Healthy Eating

Nanstallon Pre-School is a Healthy Early Years Setting and regards meal times as an important part of the day. Eating represents a social time for children and adults, which helps children to learn about healthy eating.  There is a mid morning/afternoon break where children are offered a choice of healthy snacks. We offer a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables and carbohydrate snack such as breadstick, toast plus a choice of milk or water to drink. Water is available at all times. The menu is on the noticeboard for parents to view.

We are currently taking part in Healthy Under 5’s and Healthy Movers. We have a noticeboard in reception to inform parents of good choices for health and well-being. We have created Healthy Early Years Play Together Packs; these are given out to encourage children and parents to share cooking experiences at home. Children have access to the outdoor environment and regularly take part in Forest School activities throughout the week.
