Nanstallon Pre-school

Meet the Team

We are proud of the fact that we maintain a high ratio of adults to children at Nanstallon Pre-School, there are always at least three qualified members of staff present at any one session.

Our Business Manager, Lucy Lewin is employed part-time and she works closely with the Committee and Play Leader to ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School.

Our Play Leader is Vicky Lafford, she has worked at the Pre-School since 2008 and Level 3 qualified in NVQ Childcare Learning and Development, she is Paediatric First Aid trained and has a Certificate in Food Safety. Vicky achieved Early Years Teacher Status in July 2014.

Vicky is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Child Protection Officer.

Our Deputy Play Leader is Tara Lewis, she has worked at the Pre-School since 2004 and is Level 3 qualified in NVQ Childcare Learning and Development, she is Paediatric First Aid trained and has a Certificate in Food Safety. Tara is our Deputy Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

Sheila Trethewey has worked at the Pre-School since 1995 and is NNEB qualified, she is Paediatric First Aid trained and has a Certificate in Food Safety. Sheila is our Deputy Child Protection Officer.

Sue Yeo has worked at the Pre-School since 2011 and has a Level 2 Certificate in working with young children and young people in the workforce, she is Paediatric First Aid trained.

Lisa Thomas, has worked at the Pre-School since 2013 and has a Level 2 Certificate working with young children and young people in the workforce, she has a Certificate in Food Safety.

Laura Marshall, has worked at the Pre-School since 2014 and is awaiting her Level 3 Certificate working with young children and young people in the workforce.

 

Staff Training

Our membership of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and our close connections with Cornwall Early Years Department ensures that we keep abreast of current thinking, policy and practice in the field of childcare and education. On-going training is available through the Pre-School Learning Alliance and Cornwall Early Years courses and staff are obliged to attend 25 hours training each year.
